About Heads Up
Heads Up is a new service to support people with a brain injury living in the
Royal Borough of Kingston, and their family and friends.
We are developing a clear care pathway for people with a brain injury living in
the community to make sure that they get the right support and help they need to
live independently. We work with other health and social care services as well
as private and voluntary sector services.
What we offer
- A signposting service - we can put you in
touch with other professions and services who can help:
- Speech and Language
Therapy to help you communicate well, and;
- Occupational Therapy
Services and equipment to help you stay
independent and well
- A support group - 'BIG' (Brain Injury
Group)
- An opportunity to share your experiences
and be listened to
- Advice on educational and working
opportunities
- Educational sessions on Brain Injury
- Support to help you live independently
and use local facilities such as libraries, sport centres and
shops
- An enablement service including pottery,
woodwork, creative art, IT, music and alternative therapy
- Social activities and outings
